The "Names Are Hard" Topic

Ever making a new character and you can't think of a name?

Happens all the freakin' time! 

Here's a good ol' topic where we can all give name suggestions to each other based on posted designs and concepts for characters!

Here, I'll go first and I'll even give myself a few suggestions of my own!



Having a hard time thinking of a name for this nerd! I don't have any concept of what he's going to turn out like personality wise or anything, I only have the design right now!
This design's last name was "Star", but I don't think that would work anymore with the color scheme (plus I don't really like it). I didn't want to name him something fire based, because I figured that would either be too obvious or too lame. 

Hmm... I'm having a really tough time. Swift comes to mind? But that seems like a very common name, and I'm not sure how down I am with that name. See? Names are hard! 

If you're also having trouble naming a character, you should throw them here and everyone can pitch in to help each other out with name suggestions!

Considering it's a pure Sonic character name it seems you are going for(the classic [Name] the [Animal]), the names are usually based on special characteristics. If he has powers, it may be based on that.
Just on his color scheme, I can imagine his name to be something like fiery, and personally, I really like the name Star. Another name that came up was "Alex", but alongside Thomas, and Jakob, it may have just been a 'default name' in my mind. 

I may put a character design up here soon. I have two characters I may need names for soon, depending on how things go.

Wikipedia says about stars like Aldebaran, Hamal, Persei, Mira, Cygni and Herculis. I think Aldebaran sounds like a fun full name, with maybe a shortcut like Alde or Aldi or something.
But the names Ruby provided also seem fun, I like Fiamette.

I've been thinking it over for a few days myself. I've come up with Valor (or "Val", as a nickname) and I've been sitting on it for a few days. I think I quite like it, what do you guys think?

Valor's a nice name, though given I don't know much about the character beyond the basic design, I don't see how well it fits. .3.
Val also makes me think of "Valerie", a female name.

I loved seeing the different ways you coloured him in. Personally I like the names Valor Nova or Kenna, just because they're firey names, but it really is just your decision on what feels the best
Valor makes me think of Pokemon Go though, so you have the idea of Moltres floating into some people's minds xD

Valor Nova has grown on me actually, so I might just go with that! (Nova for short)
It definitely matches his fiery look!
