Personality:
Sniper is like a difficult toddler who just simply won't do as he's told. Tell him to do one thing, he'll probably do the opposite no matter what it is. Tell him not to do something and he'll be the first in line to do it, unless it's something he knows will definitely affect him in a bad way. Needless to say, Sniper is cheeky and mischievous and will do anything to give somebody a bit of sass and attitude. Snappy comebacks is a game he loves playing, but beat him and he'll throw a temper tantrum. In fact, beat him at anything and he'll throw a temper tantrum. Games, battles, arguments... anything. Sniper is childish and immature, so if he gives anyone an easy time after losing it should be considered a breakthrough. 

But Sniper still has a softer side. While he can be a short-tempered brat, some things still manage to get to him. He may develop a fondness for a certain inanimate object or living creature. Or, on the other hand, he may be triggered by people pointing out that he is nothing more than an unwanted defect (which is sadly true). Yet while things like that can upset him, he still has the determination to prove to people that he is something more. He may not be the robot he was supposed to be, but he is still something which isn't useless.


Combat traits

Powers:
He can fire lasers from his arms. Two small laser guns pop out and fire pulse beams instead of continuous beams. They aren't the most destructive things in the world, but they are his pride and joy since he has no other actual weapons. But while there are worse weapons out there, he can still do a fair bit of damage. 


Sniper also has boosters in the base of his feet, allowing him to fly. He can reach a speed which almost rivals Sonic's, but not quite. After all, he never needed to have such speed built into him, for if he ever had to fight Sonic and chase him down he still had his lasers to target him with.


Lastly, although not really a power, Sniper has very light feet, made from aluminium. They are designed to help him walk and run silently. His running speed is not as fast as his flight speed, but he can still be pretty swift. This is an ability which could come in handy, if only Sniper would stop being a loud-mouth and drawing attention to himself.


Strengths:
- Electricity (in moderation it can give him a bit of a power boost)
- Darkness (he has night vision so when in the dark he can enable that. Combining that with his silent feet could be devastating if he tried)
- Technology and other electronics (he can use them to his advantage, as a fellow piece of technology, since he knows quite a bit about tech and electronics, not to mention he has the ability to scan anything he's uncertain of)

Weaknesses:
- Too much electricity (could fry his circuits)
- Too much heat (molten metal, lava... anything that is so hot that it could melt a steel-titanium alloy)
- Water (while Sniper is actually somewhat waterproof, water slows him down and prevents him from using his boosters and lasers. If some exposed circuitry makes contact with water it could also do a bit of damage, especially to his head since it could cause a severe malfunction. Also, if water freezes it does also freeze him and maybe even his circuits, so it could be fatal for him)

- EMMI the Hedgebot (a fellow defective robot who has worked around her errors. She has helped Sniper a lot in his early days, but her alliance is constantly shifting so now the two are distant but still friends)

Negative relations
- Dr. Nefastous Gage (his creator, a scientist who focuses on building the most advanced technology, but he's more focused on war and destruction than peace and harmony. Sniper hates him because of how he was treated by him.)
-Steel "Sonic" (a robotic hedgehog who was designed as the perfect killing machine, but was really tasked with getting rid of Sniper. He is pretty much Sniper's major rival now, and the two share a mutual hatred for each other).


History

Built by a man named Dr. Nefastous Gage, Metal Sniper was originally a machine built as rival technology to other AI-creators such as the evil Doctor Eggman. Other robots similar to him were also built, all created with the function to kill. Whether their target ran fast or flew high, Nefastous wanted machines strong enough and skilled enough to take them down. He made each one unique in programming, only to discover that this was a major flaw when finishing Metal Sniper.

Sniper, like many of Gage's robots, had been programmed with free will in order to develop like actual living beings; instead of being mindless and calculating, he was supposed to learn to enjoy killing and crave battle. Also, a lack of free will meant that Sniper and the other robots would be vulnerable in the hands of others, so free will protected them all from such a fate.

However, what came with free will was personality. With most robots they actually maintained a somewhat robotic personality, but Sniper abandoned the formula completely. He originally started off shy and sweet, which was the opposite of what Gage wanted from his unit of advanced killer robots. Sniper was labelled as a defect for his flawed personality traits, so never was sent out to do anything. Instead he was made to do chores around Gage's laboratory, and even when doing them correctly he'd end up getting a wrench to the head.

EMMI, a fellow robot built by Gage, often encountered Sniper doing his little jobs. Originally she shared the same perspective as her creator, believing the smaller robot to be defective and weak, but discovered that she had grown attached to him. To her, he seemed too kind to deserve poor treatment, and she was aware of the fact that, like her and the others, Sniper had the ability to feel and judge. Thus, she decided to befriend him.

By befriending Sniper EMMI found goodness in herself and abandoned her allegiance with Gage, going on to act as a lone hero (although every now and then she returns to help her robotic friends who still work for Gage, and her alliance shifts to others, too). At this point, Sniper had grown a little more confident in himself. He had learned to speak up and found that he actually enjoyed causing trouble around the lab. Of course, Gage was not fond of this at all.

As Sniper's cocky personality grew, Gage decided that it would be best to get rid of him. He built another robot known as "Steel Sonic", which was perfected so that it would be conscious yet cold and calculating at the same time. Steel was a fast-moving silver hedgebot, similar to Sniper but designed primarily to move fast both on foot and in air, making it easier for him to dodge and attack swiftly. Unbeknownst to Sniper, his name was more of a trick. He hadn't been built as a mechanical rival of Sonic's in any way; he was built to destroy Sniper.

Sniper was called to "meet" the newest robot. Upon entering the room, Gage made sure the door was locked behind him. The room also happened to be the training room designed for new and/or upgraded robots - a room Sniper had only ever been in once. Immediately he knew that something wasn't right, but tried to laugh off the situation. He even tried talking with Steel, only to find himself being violently tackled and at the newer robot's mercy. Steel took his time taunting Sniper before proceeding to attack him, doing some severe damage. At first Sniper could barely fight back at all, but soon found his feet and fought back. While his personality had caused his creator to hate him and label him as a defect, his fighting capabilities were not flawed. He drenched the room in darkness by taking out the lights, switched on his night vision and used his silent feet to sneak up on Steel from behind undetected. With Steel now damaged, the fight continued, and eventually Sniper seemed to win. 

Despite Gage admitting that he was impressed, Sniper decided that he was no longer going to work for him after such a thing was done to him. He fled the lab and scavenged for materials to repair himself. Once fixed, Sniper went on to be his own master. He had taught himself to not take a liking to others too easily and abandoned any sweet personality trait he had left within him, therefore becoming nothing but a mischievous but malicious brat of a machine. Out of his own insecurities, he has vowed to take down anyone he sees as a formidable opponent. Little does he know that Gage and Steel may not have vanished from his artificial life forever...

1. No characters that are related to OR friends with the canon characters. We don't need 5 girlfriends of sonic, 7 best friends of tails, 10 ARK projects that are just like Shadow, ect. The ONLY way you can have your character be friends with a canon character is if it happens in the actual rps on site. THIS INCLUDES METAL VERSIONS



3. If your character is tied to a canon organization such as GUN, Eggman, Dark Egg Legion or even ARK, try to keep things realistic. There are no 500 best GUN agents or high ranking Eggman goons. Most of those already exist and can be found in the canon character listing. This also means no 500 ARK projects

Sorry, but due to these rules, Sniper can't have been made by Eggman to kill Sonic. It's too many tie-ins to the canon, which could cause confusion and inconveniences in future RPs, so if you could change the bio (the best way to do that would be changing the maker of Sniper to someone who isn't Eggman), we'd appreciate it.
