An Unlikely Alliance (1X1)

Gear smiled at Bumbles response. It reminded him of the old days serving in the MechaMetal military during Razors rise, a war where many came up to the challenge to fight for freedom and to live. It was a battle hard fought but sadly didn't end well...

Not wanting to dwell on the negative Gear gave Bumble a pat on the back,


"There you go! You got spirit, the will to fight," Gear smiled as he turned to Livxy, "Alright, you can prepare us for teleport to Park avenue. Ftom there we can- "

He was interrupted there was a sudden explosion that shook the ship throwing everyone off their feet. Accompanying it was a weird warping sound as yrvx scramble around trying to keep the ship in the air.

"What the scrap was that?"

Bumble, like everyone else, got knocked off of his feet by the intense explosion that seemed to shake the entirety of the large ship they were on. Very surprising, considering how large the ship was in the first place!


"Nnngh!" The bear groaned as he pushed himself up onto one knee, rubbing the side of his head where he'd hit it on the ground. "Wh-what was that?! What's going on?!" He asked, looking around and seeing the yrvx scrambling around and trying to get things figured out.

He turned to Gear as he finally stood all the way up, walking over to the robot to aid him in getting on his feet as well.

Gear dashed over to the main platform on the bridge, looking out in front of them. Directly ahead was several eggfleet ships and smallers ships engaging the Yrvxian fleet. But what caught his attention was the figure hovering right in front of the ships large window.

He was nearly completely black with long hair and a tail with white highlights and was wearing rather gothic gloves and shoes. The most distinguishing part of him was the silver mask that cover his face completely except his left eye, not only that but the strange pulsating triangular red gemstone in his chest.

Gear watched with both fear and frustration. It was him... the one who possessed the ability to alter reality to his whim and tear through entire units of soldiers without so much as being hindranced at all. 


"It's you... the one who took down sonic..." Gear bursted over and stood right in front of the glass that separated the two, Gears eyes flicking to red as he stared the figure in the eyes, 

"You're Infinite."

Without a word the figure glitched back far from the ship and held his hand out, a red glow surrounding it. Almost immediately large waves of red cude energy began to approach the ship and surround it.

"All ships return to the mother ship! Full retreat, I repeat, full retreat!," the warnings blared as the Yrvx ship launched everything it had in hopes to slow the advance of the enemy forces.

Bumble... stared in sheer horror and awe at the figure that was floating right in front of the ship. It was him... the one who started all of this...

He'd never interacted with the ominous being himself, though he saw him at several points throughout all of the carnage and destruction of Station Square. Whenever he appeared, he would always bring more ruin and misery with him... and then fade out in a strange glitching way, as if he was bending the rules of time and space.

"It's him... it... it's really him..." The bear said, his voice shaky as he took a few fearful steps back. "N-no..."

He then saw all of the strange red cubes begin to appear all around the ship that they were on, recognizing them from Station Square - whenever this Infinite guy appeared, those strange cubes seemed to appear behind him, in front of him, whenever he'd disappear or teleport, even when he'd conjure up new robots seemingly out of thin air.

"G-Gear!" He shouted, rushing over to the robot and tugging on his arm. "What are we gonna do?! This guy is no joke, I-I've seen him mow down... tons of people and Mobians without even having to lift a finger!"

Gear immediately dashed to the teleporting pad, grabbing and carrying Bumble with him.

"We need a beam down to park avenue, now!"

The ship began to.rock as it was bombarded by attacks and rattled around by Infinites own attacks. So far it didn't seem like things were going to go well. The pad began to glow as it prepared to warp them. Before it could however the side of the ship were they were was destroyed and blown open. The Urvx gathering around the opening as bots poured in and began attacking.

But that wasn't what got everyones attention. Because floating in from the huge hole was infinite himself.

"Ah... so the extraterrestrial vermin finally show themselves... pity... to bad the doctor didn't have a use for you. Now you die like the rest."

Gear gritting his teeth as he pushed Bumble onto the pad, smacking the button to send them off. The shimmering light inveloped them as for a split second they say infinite began to tear through them without mercy.

Bumble could barely make out what was happening with all of the chaos going on - one second he's freaking out, the next suddenly Gear's carrying him and running around, then a large hole was blown in the side of the ship... and then he saw him, the one that started it all, floating before them.

If they'd been just a millisecond too late, Infinite's attack would surely have ripped them to shreds... but luckily for the two of them, the teleporter worked - they appeared down on the ground in the middle of one of the main streets of Park Avenue.

It took a few seconds for the bear to process what just happened as he looked around, realizing that he was back on the ground - this wasn't Station Square, but it looked similar... with all of the destroyed buildings and cars, and the fires burning...


"Wh-what... we-we made it?!" He asked, looking up at Gear who was still holding him, and then up at the sky where the Yrvx ship and Infinite were.

Gear let out a sigh as he looked up towards the direction of the Yrvx ship, explosions rocking the sky as they could hear it still being bombarded by attacks.

"I hope they make it out... Lyra will know what to do. I hope..."

Gear looked over the city, his illuminated eyes a sad blue as he viewe the chaos and destruction. Deathegg robots running amok... swarms of bots attacking the city and ships capturing civilians and others. Likely to be robotisized An d made into a new army.

Gear balled his hands in fists as his eyes flicked to red with anger. This had to end one way or another. He put his hand to the side of his head as he began trying to raise any other resistance fighters in the area,

"Hello? Anyone out there? Please, if you can hear this please answer..."

There was silence for a minute. But then was static as something started to come through,

"Ge-? Th-t y-?... bad sign- we are -t old resistance base i- ~he center of park... We got tai-s... Zzzrk!"

The Signal cut out however and Gear couldn't raise it again, no matter how hard he tried, "Looks like we need to find that base. That voice sounded familiar now that i think about it..."

"Y-yeah.. that voice did sound kinda familiar..." Bumble agreed with the robot. He knew he heard that voice somewhere before, but he couldn't place where or when...

"A-and it sounded like they said something about Tails... I-I think.." He added. If that was true, and whoever Gear was talking with had managed to locate Sonic's trusty sidekick...

"H-how are we gonna find the center of this place?" He asked, concern evident in his voice as he looked around - any possible road signs or other markers that could possibly help them were either weathered beyond recognition by gunfire and laser attacks, or completely destroyed. "We don't even know where WE are in this place!"

Gear streached a bit as he pointed towards the fighting, explosions and eggbots overshadowed the city in huge swarms. However there were obvious places where resistance fighters were fighting and escaping, even holding points across the city.

"I take it somewhere in that direction, In the thick of the fight," Gear gave a wink as he held out his hand. His booster flaring a bit, "You ready... partner?"

Of course, it would have to be in the direction of all of the fighting... and the yelling... and the laserbeams. Of course.

The bear gulped nervously... but then looked over at the robot with a surprised expression on his face as the robot held his hand out and called him 'partner' like that.

'Partner'... like... he was actually a REAL part of something. A REAL member of some sort of team that was really doing good!

And... like he had an actual real comrade!

The bear gave Gear a smile and nodded, taking hold of his hand firmly.

"Ready as I'll ever be... b-buddy!" He replied, a renewed feeling of hope coursing through his veins: they were gonna DO this, and they were gonna succeed!

Gear gave a nod as he turned down the street with Bumble next to him, he own eyes filled with determination.

With the first step, he began to run. Not too fast at first that way bumble could keep up. Just as they reached the first set of enemies, Gear activated his barrier and created a battering ram to bash aside opponents as they ran, still picking up speed as they raced fowards.

"Wow!" Bumble remarked as he ran alongside Gear, amazed by his powers. For being such an old-looking model of a robot, he clearly had more tricks up his sleeve than one would expect.

"Nice going!" He complimented the robot as they kept on running forward, giving a robot a hefty elbow to the gut to double it over and then a swift punch that sent it flying. All while continuing to run.

Eventually he came to a robot that had it's arm-cannon aimed right at him... and he furrowed his brow, jumping high into the air and forward in a forward flip, grabbing ahold of the robot with his hands on the way over him... and landing on his feet behind the Eggpawn, tossing him over his back and forward right into another robot. Needless to say, they both exploded upon the impact.

Shot fowards with incredible speed and force, blasting through robots and using his kick boxing and blast attacks to incredible effect. Fortunately there wasn't a heavy concentration of bots on there path through the city.

"Looks like a street ahead we can use to get to the middle of the city. Let's trash these cans and get moving,"

Gear immediately jumped up and multi homing shot several groups of enemies out of bumbles way, his joyful and playful snile not leaving his face as he tried to keep strong for bumbles sake.

Bumble started getting into all of the fighting with Gear there helping him out and never seeming to lose his resolve, busting bots with his punches and kicks every time one of them got in his way.

"You got it, buddy!" He replied to the robot's words, grinning and sending a spinning kick to one of the robots which sent it flying off into one of the dilapidated buildings in the city.

Giving a satisfied huff at his work, he ran ahead after Gear took out more groups of enemies... and saw one robot with his laser aimed directly at the robot.

"Oh no you don't!" He declared, furrowing his brows and dashing forward as fast as he could before leaping forward with his fist extended... and managing to punch a hole through the belly of the robot, his whole body ending up on the other side!

Needless to say, the robot then dropped it's laser gun, made a bunch of malfunctioning electronic noises, and exploded behind him.
