Kingdom Of Gungwa
Name:Kingdom Of Gungwa(Sea)
Type of Faction: Nation
Government: Aristocratic Monarchy
Ruling Dynasty: House Dutu(Storm)
Population: Unknown(Excess of 35 Million prior to War Of Transgressions)
Synopsis
The Kingdom of Gungwa lived on a land mostly unknown to most Mobians, due to its distance from the other continents. Within this continent, there was the nation itself, along with a patchwork of other states, for the most part, much smaller than itself. Administered by a number of elected governors, mostly chosen from the nation’s warrior clans. Who had become something akin to Daimyo in the nation’s earlier history. It’s ruling dynasty, House Dutu, was notable for being one of the strongest of these clans. Establishing their dominance for hundreds of years.
Most notable, was their ability to use the force known as “Impulse” something that could be described as similar to chaos energy. Though, a comparison none of those there would know, given their isolation. Which allowed the members of the house to use their abilities, as well as engage a short-lived burst of power that increased their strength many times. Though, having the drawback of being extremely dangerous to the user.
Its technology was post modern, mostly due to the alien ship that crashed centuries ago. Before its destruction, Automata, Cybernetics, and Large fleets of airships were all used by Gungwa.
History
Early Period
The ethnic group that made up most of Gungwa’s population, the Rhi, are thought to have first appeared around 1,200 Years ago. Though, in an early form, with many cultural differences from their Descendants. It was around this time that Ndaramota(Golden City)appeared. Though, at this time, it was naught but a small fishing village. And, as such, did not have nearly as much power as the other Rhi city states that surrounded it. Population, Economic, or military wise. It was this that made them seem like an easy target to their neighbors. About 100 years later, despite its growth, the situation was no different. And their northern neighbor, deciding that they required a coast, began an incursion on the small nation. As one would expect, the battle did not go well. Their only saving grace, being a hedgehog known as Kutinhira. An inhabitant of the village, who went on to battle their armies as they tried to break through the city’s walls. Building a legacy for himself, as he went on to defeat much of their force by himself.
Of course, the war did not stop there, as the nation continued their attempts to stomp out Ndaramota, only to find this new threat stopping their invasion at all turns. His strategic genius and power proved to make it extremely hard for them to win. They were being weakened, noticeably so. Which lead for the northern nation to be invaded by surrounding powers, which, consequently, lead to themselves beginning their own invasion, and taking territory.
When the war finally ended, the City-state’s territory had swelled by a lot. And Kutinhira had since risen to a high rank. Eventually, in the city of Ndramoto, The Kingdom of Gungwa was declared. Beginning the nation’s long history.
Growth Period
For centuries, the nations of the continent continued to expand, and eventually, the Rhi united under the Kingdom of Gungwa. The land was no longer the patchwork of petty kingdoms, and city-states. By now, Gungwa, and a nation known as Jimund, which had consistently been their rival, were the premier powers on the continent. Electricity had been invented decades before, along with it, were industrial machines that powered all of the nations.
The International staring match between the two powers had become standard fare, that most had grown used to. But, this sense of Normalcy was broken, as, within the very center of the continent, a downright gigantic ship, measured at over 10 kilometres in length, crashed into the earth. Gungwa, Jimund, and all the other powers noted this almost immediately. And tried to capitalize on the appearance of the ship. Technology, military, and civilian alike were picked clean, and reverse-engineered, and adapted for Mobian Use. Though the Gungwa specialized more in the mechanical side of things, while Jimund specialized in Biotechnology. Creating Biologically engineered beasts to use on the battlefield.
The rapid build up of tech, and the increasingly emboldened nations on two different sides, would lead to a conflict breaking out. One known as the “War of the 6 Blades” A name referring to the coalition formed by Jimund. In the end, the war was extremely destructive, its costs far outweighing the advancements in technology it brought. Eventually, ending in a stalemate, with neither side truly gaining anything. Though, for some, the results were worse than others. Many collapsed into civil war. Afterward, the nations began to lick their wounds.
Late Period
For a while, the rebuilding continued, it took 60 more years for even the great powers to recover from the conflict. Moreso for any growth to begin. Even so, this did not stop a conflict from beginning, 7 years before the modern day. The “War Of Transgressions” Began, as a force of Jimund Soldier’s and bioweapons poured across the DMZ that had formed between the two nation’s. Starting yet another destructive conflict. Many of the other nations were pulled into each side, willingly, and unwillingly. With the situation becoming desperate enough that members of the royal dynasty had to move in to battle the enemy. Including the King’s sons, Bolt, and Screech. The war would eventually end with a battle in the city of Ndramota. A battle between the forces of both Kingdoms, as well as the two monarchs, who destroyed much of the area with pure power alone, before killing each other in battle, both dying around the same time. The two princes battling a Jimund General, and disappearing, with their status unknown. By the time the battle was over, there was almost none of any nation on the continent left. What remains of the cultures of the continent is currently unknown
Ndaramota Royal Complex
The Ndaramota Royal Complex was a castle constructed shortly after the first King Began his Reign. It constantly evolved through the centuries, as the technology the nation wielded became more advanced.
