Welcome to the Wasteland (Open RP)

(This is a post-nuclear apocalyptic rp that is inspired by various post-nuclear stories, with the Fallout game series being the most heavily influenced.  Just follow the rules of the site and have some fun in the wasteland)

War...War never changes....

Mobius was once a thriving planet, one full of life and beauty. People speak of great heroes who fought against an evil madman scientist who was bent on world domination...by any means necessary. He had the tools, the minions, and the weapons to conquer the entire planet and enslave all of its people.  Yet a small band of Freedom Fighters defied him at every turn, one in particular, a blue hedgehog with a cocky nature yet is born with the power to run like the wind.  The madman grows more and more infuriated as their battles go on for days, for months, and even years.  The 'Azure Blur' and the Freedom Fighters gotten closer and closer to victory.  However all that changed when 'The Cleansing' happened. As the name stated, it was a mass cleansing of Mobius through nuclear fire and radiation. The madman knew that if he can't have Mobius...than no one will. He had nuclear weapons made in case this ever happened and knew that while he would not survive the bombing, nether would his greatest enemies.  The lands of the once lush planet became a wasteland. But this was not as many people would see as the end of the world.  While most of Mobians died, there are still a great number of survivors who try to live and thrive through the harshness of the Mobian Wasteland.  Some try to help others for the greater good, others try to take from the weak and show no mercy.  But in the end, there are no longer heroes, only survivors...

Because war.....war never changes.  But maybe...just maybe...people can.

((I'm guessing we just... Start somewhere? If I need to give a little basic info on the character I'm playing, just give me the word! ))

Miri determinedly trudges through what used to be a thriving city. At the moment it's more a collection of crumbling buildings with a few dead trees for show. She's hoping, pretty desperately so, that she'll be able to find a source of power somewhere in this abandoned place. A building lucky enough to still have a little electricity flowing to it, a generator, really anything with an outlet. Or that she can mess around with the wires on to fake an outlet.

Her sword's battery has been drained for about a week now and she's not to pleased about it. She's not the greatest fighter anyway, but without the weapon she's used to... Well, if anything comes to blows; not the greatest would be putting it lightly.

Wandering out in the wastes in what's left of a once great city, a brown furred hedgehog known as Sayo in what looks like a black skull mask in military grade gear with a cloak on walks into the ruins. He is armed with a Monroe and Sons T20-DMR rifle, with a Draknill .500 revolver as his sidearm. On his leg is his old tribal combat knife.  He has some water left along with ammo, but little food. "This sucks...." He mutters to himself as he kept going.

(I hope you guys don't mind that I join in because I really liked Fallout 4 and I think Maverick will be in some pretty tight situations here, again I hope you don't mind.)

Maverick reached into his pocket and pulled out a 10mm pistol, he didn't have much ammo left, hopefully he could find some, and fast, he knew he wouldn't survive out here with just a walking cane for a melee weapon and a pistol with about 5 round left in it.  he marched on, wondering what could've caused this to happen and why.

Miri's eyes light up as she turns an empty street corner and finds a grocery store. Viable food inside, maybe. Generator inside? Most likely. 

She runs up to the once-sliding doors of the place and starts trying to tug one open. If the power getting cut off in the aftermath of the explosion didn't automatically turn it on and waste the battery on it, then this cat might just be in luck!

If she can get the door open, at least. It doesn't seem to want to budge at the moment.

Sayo sees a grocery store and walks towards it. Stores like this usually have some kind of food left over, even if its old and all that. As he walks closer, he notics a cat trying to get into the store. He took the safety off of his rifle and makes his way to her. "I see I'm not the only one gunning for this place." He said out loud, revealing himself.

She jolts with surprise before turning to face him. "I dunno that I'd say 'gunnin',' ta' describe my interest in it." Miri responds, shooting a glace over at his rifle before side-stepping out of the way. 

Despite her visibly sharp teeth, she doesn't seem particularly threatening, especially with her short stature.

His eyes than turn to the direction of the entrance, examining it. He looks through the window, seeing what's inside. "So sweetheart, you here for the food or something else? Or both?" He said as he starts to put his hand on the glass. He doesn't know if he has enough juice to use his bio-electricity to jump start the door to open it. Most likely he'll have to break the glass.

White was get tired of this smell, burning, metal smell. He walks through a park or use to be park , with torn clothes( maybe I should find new clothes.) Then the smell of people, he rushed to find some survivors. (Maybe I can join them?) He thought , then he sees a building in the background.

"I uh... Got somethin' I need to plug in for a bit." she backs up a little bit, trying to figure out exactly what he's doing, just pressing a hand to the glass. "But both'd be good, yeah." 

She tries to look around for somewhere she can run and hide in, just in case.

"Well..only one way to find out." Sayo said as he starts to spark up what appears to be blue lightning sparks.  He starts using his bio-electricity, grunting a bit as the sliding doors start to open, up slowly. "Can't risk making loud noises. You never know what threat could be out here." He than turns to her. "You comin' or what?"

Maverick kept walking until he made to the remains of a park, he looked over at the broken swing set and the rusted slide and sighed, why did this have to happen, just...why?  Exhausted from walking for about 4 or 6 hours, give or take, he sat on a bench and looked in his bag, it was one of those duffle bags, he didn't have many resources left, just some water and other radiated foods that may kill him some day, at least he had some rad-x from that lunch pail near that one place.  Maverick closed the bag, as much as he wanted to eat he couldn't, he needed to reserve his resources in order to survive, he placed the bag down and lied down, his back straight on the bench, his eyes lost in the polluted air above.  "Why did this happen?" He said to himself, hoping this was all just another dream.

She hesitates for a moment, but nods and follows him inside. The place absolutely reeks. But that's a good sign, it means at least some of the unpackaged food was left be, and that trend my carry over to the packaged, less easily rotted foods. 

Miri wrinkles her nose a bit, but hurries along in her search.

Using his old military training and instincts, Sayo starts to make a quick sweep of the area in case of any possible hostiles. He than looks to find a vending machine, slinging his rifle aside and pulling out his knife. The mercenary uses it to force the machine open, finding some sodas inside. "Good enough." He said as he grabs some to put in his bag. He goes to find Miri. "Hey. Catch." He tosses a soda bottle.

"Hmm? Oh!" Miri scrambles a bit to catch it, but manages. She stuffs it into a side pocket of her backpack with a little stretching. "Uh.. Thanks." she says quickly, a bit more focused on what she actually came here looking for than supplies at the moment. She has a bit in her bag, enough to get by for the time being. What she doesn't have is a charged and usable weapon. 

She soon finally manages to hunt up an employee-only door and gives it a hopefully tug. Surprisingly enough, it doesn't seem to have been locked, and swings open with a bit more force than she'd intended. It clashes into a nearby display with a loud bang.

Sayo grabs some packaged food nearby until he hears a loud sound. He goes to investigate, seeing a doorway with one thing missing: a door. He turns to look at her slowly. "Really? Was that really necessary?"

"It was.. A lot looser th'n expected." she says, stepping into the room.  This area seems to be where the meat was processed in-store, but there are a few things tucked under tables that don't quite fit with that. A few unopened boxes of product, a safe half-hidden behind a torn piece of white plastic...

She starts investigating a little further in, a grin popping onto her lips as she thinks she's found the right place.

Sayo takes off his hood and than takes off his mask, revealing his face as he looks at his new surroundings. Drawing out his knife, he starts to open the packages to see what's inside.

It seems mostly products with easily cleaned packaging was stored back here. A few bags of chao chow, some canned foods without pull tabs, a few sanitary products.

Miri finds a small generator next too a large refrigerator, probably an emergency power source for the most expensive refrigerated stock in case of power outages. She finds that the fridge is in fact plugged in to the thing. With a few fast movements she takes that plug out and her armlet is popped into the socket. "C'mon..." she murmurs, flipping a switch on the machine. 

She smiles wide when it powers up with a whirr.

"I see you found what you are looking for." Sayo said as he open the large fridge to find what's inside. Pretty much more food by the looks of it. "Jackpot." He said with a small grin as he starts to examine the products inside.

Miri nods, leaving her armband to charge going to check out the safe she spotted earlier. If it has a numbered lock, then maybe? 

Sayo hears her muttering a few things as she checks it out. 

The fridge is mostly decently sized wheels of cheese, opened out of their wooden cases. A few have straight cuts chopping off a bit of them, like they were sliced for a deli. There's mold on them, at this point, but with that kind of thing all you have to do is cut the rot off.

The merc starts cutting the rot off of the cheese as he goes to see what Miri is up to. "Trying to open that lock?" He asks as he looks at it, wondering what could be hidden inside of it. He tosses one of the rotted pieces away in a nonchalant manner.

Miri nods without looking up at him. "Dunno if anythin' good 's in it, but..." she presses a few buttons and it gives a distressed sounding beep. She tries it in a different order and the door pops open slightly. "S'worth a look." she says as she opens it up the rest of the way.

He kneels down and looks inside, taking out an LED flashlight he had on him in case he left without his tactical mask. "Money...no need for it." He mutters and than sees an engraved pistol, picking it up to examine. "Hmmm...its in good condition. Parts are clean, its got an empty mag ejector, a compensator, and even glowing iron sights."
