Primal Hunger

"I'm dead, what more do you want from me"? he shouts looking at the changing weather. "I paid for my sins by dying, let me rest now".

He made Kory's body let out a smile, even if it wasn't hers.

"You really thought that i'd leave you alone because you died..? Hahahah.. You're so funny, Infinite. Or should i say Zero.. Tell me, how does it feel to be such a failure? You failed your friends, you failed the ones who tried to help you and you failed yourself. Everything you did may not matter anymore but it still happened. It happened because you failed."

Infinite puffs his cigarette trying to not let the words get to him. "Yes, I have failed but my family have forgiven me for my mistakes. Even Sonic tried to save me. I may be a failure, but I am loved".

"By who's standing right in front of you, i can assume that you did forget something important, did you not..? After all, she's still alive, but that doesn't mean she's in control.~"

He chuckled softly.

You killed me,I can't stop you even if I wanted to". He takes a step forward."But you can't kill me again".

"You really think i'll leave you alone just because you're dead?"


And the sky became darker.. And darker... And the earth started shaking as hard as it could possible could.. And just when he realized, Infinite was awake.

It was dark, but that's actually because he was being covered by something. A piece of cloth was covering his whole body in a dark room with a light on the ceiling. Everything was quiet, nothing happening around him.

His first thought is the darkness, and his second thought is how much pain he is in. He howls in pain unable to move due to the pain and how weak his body feels.

Suddenly, someone starts opening a door near him... It was Sonic! The real Sonic! He heard Infinite's howling and went to action immediately as he uncovered Infinite and even if he was panicking he tried his best to heal him. And after a long time, he managed to heal him.

"Whew.. I.. I can't believe you woke up.... How did you come back?!"

Sonic was confused.

"W.....Water" is all he can manage to say glad to see the real Sonic.

".. Water.? Oh! Is that what you want? Don't worry i'll go get it."

And so he leaves the room, coming back with some water right after. He noticed how he couldn't move, so he helped him sit up to drink it.

"There there.. Hope this helps."

Infinite gulps down the water. "How long have I been dead"? he asks laying down to get more comfortable. Infinite feels safe being near the real Sonic. "I am sorry for everything I have done. I truly am sorry for torturing you". 

"I-infinite.. It's okay."   He smiled.


"Look, i'm not mad at you. I know what you have been going through ever since your defeat and.. I'm really sorry for what Shadow did to you and your squad. It was a mistake. A horrible mistake. I should be sorry for everything... Also.. You've been dead for three hours."

"Kory is under his control Sonic, be careful". Infinite feels weak and tired. "I don't feel well."

"His control..? Oh.. O-oh no.. But- i thought this only paralyzed her! What exactly are we gonna do?? We haven't figured out a way to wake her up yet!!"

Sonic becomes even more nervous now.

"I don't know Sonic. I was dead but he brought me back to make me suffer more". His eyes start to close. "I need to see a doctor"

"D-Don't worry i'll get you one soon. I'll be back!"

He leaves the room and then he brings in one of the Ark's doctors to deal with everything. They tried dealing with Infinite's pain the best they could and the expected progress was slowly coming together.

As for Sonic, he went back to Shadow to report what he just found out about Infinite. He came in running still a little nervous.

"Shadow! Shadow!"
He called. He saw him just staring at Mobius from the Ark's window.

Shadow turned his attention to Sonic. "What is it", he asks bluntly. The pressure from the recent events wearing him down

"You won't believe this... Infinite is alive!"

He says with a smile.

Shadow is shocked by this. "How? We saw him die." He turns his body to Sonic

"I.. I don't actually know, but from what he told me, the Fake Sonic managed to bring him back.. And he also said he's in control of Kory."

He explains as he stands besides him.

"What kind of monster brings back the dead? He has no good intentions with that".  He looks back at the planet. "We must not lose our home".

"Speaking of that... He apologized for what he did.. But I apologized for what you did to him."

He says as he looks away in embarrassment. He didn't want to guilt trip his beloved like that.

Shadow sighs and closes his eyes "How did you find out about that"?

"Well.. I knew some of that for a long time.. But i didn't actually know it was really true. But now i know it's true because of him.."

He looked back at Shadow with worried eyes.

Shadow puts a hand on sonics shoulder. "Sonic that was a mistake on my part. I just got tired of this constant fighting, and I just lost myself for a moment. I had so easily beaten them that I toyed with the leader. It was a mistake and I regret for doing it. I knew it was him and I went up here during the war to reflect on it. I started a war Sonic. So many lives have been lost due to my recklessness".
